On behalf of our special project, Youth Philanthropy Connect, the Foundation is very pleased to have partnered with great organizations to support tools and resources for the youth philanthropy movement!
After scanning the landscape of youth philanthropy, we joined the Foundation Center, along with other funders, to create the new youth giving portal YouthGiving.org. This online information hub empowers youth and the adults who support them with the knowledge they need to be effective and strategic in their work. Foundation Center’s YouthGiving.org was built upon recommendations and following a landscape scan of the fieldresult of this study. Check out YouthGiving.org!
YPC’s partnership with the Exponent Philanthropy, formerly the Association of Small Foundations, includes Exponent Philanthropy’s participation at our 2016 Annual Conference facilitating programming and the production of joint content, such as the Teen Philanthropy Cafe readers. The Teen Philanthropy Café readers exist to increase the number of age-appropriate resources available to foundations wanting to engage and develop young philanthropists and to give a brief overview of big philanthropy topics, such as site visits and grantmaking. YPC partnered with Exponent Philanthropy to develop the 2016 webinar series, Enhancing Youth Engagement in Philanthropy: A Webinar Series for Adults. Check out past webinars here on our YouTube channel!
We have been privileged to partner with the National Center for Family Philanthropy (NCFP) to create the recently updated issue brief, Igniting the Spark, and a series of case studies profiling various youth philanthropy programs and models. Our past collaborations w
ith the National Center for Family Philanthropy have included the 2014 YPC Boston Coast Gathering, a Youth Webinar Series featuring youth-friendly webinars, and the YPC West Coast Gathering in Seattle. Check out NCFP’s next generation resource, Generations Together, and For Youth By Youth, a 2015 webinar series for youth philanthropists presented by youth philanthropists.
We partnered with 21/64 to create rolePLAY, a collaborative tool to be used by youth philanthropists and their families as they craft their philanthropic identities. Youth philanthropists at the 2014 YPC Conference tested the tool and provided feedback before it formally launched. Since then, we have embedded the rolePLAY kits throughout the country. We are thrilled to have had 21/64 present at our Fall 2016 Northeast Regional Gathering in Greater Boston!
We are so excited to have partnered with these organizations and are looking forward to more success in the youth philanthropy movement for years to come! Stay tuned for more information!
A special thank you to the founding partners of Youth Philanthropy Connect:
