LPFI Expands its Award Winning Program - And You Can Help Them Go Even Further!

Level Playing Field Institute (LPFI) is thrilled to be one of four local organizations chosen to receive a substantial software grant from Microsoft to celebrate the upcoming Microsoft Store opening at Stanford Shopping Center.  VOTE HERE to help increase the grant size!

LPFI is committed to eliminating the barriers faced by underrepresented people of color in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and fostering their untapped talent for the advancement of our nation. LPFI provides financial, academic, employment, and leadership resources to help its students surmount the obstacles to their success through its SMASH academy.

LPFI's SMASH scholars spend summer on a college campus immersed in rigorous STEM classes. Currently at UC Berkeley and Stanford, SMASH will host campuses at UCLA and USC this summer, effectively doubling its reach.

SMASH scholars live on campus for five weeks after their 9th, 10th and 11th grade years with other high potential Black, Latino/a, Native American, Southeast Asian, or Pacific Islander high school students. SMASH scholars also receive year-round academic support including SAT prep, college counseling, financial aid workshops, and other activities to ensure continued academic success.
