In 2009, the foundation opened a request for proposals for innovative and effective programs that improve the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) to children and youth in the two communities we serve. We received a significant number of proposals and funded thirteen S.T.E.M. programs. Additionally, we received letters of introduction from nonprofit organizations providing a wide variety of educational services, as well as requests for financial and non-financial support from current and prior grant recipients. A complete list of grants appears on our Recent Grants page.
We are currently working with those and other grant recipients on a variety of projects, including high engagement, capacity building, and online marketing services. We are exploring ways to leverage the impact of our funding, by collaborating with grant recipients and other funders, and identifying and disseminating best practices in teaching, in our communities.
We are not, at this time, accepting unsolicited proposals.
We are however, accepting Letters of Introduction from organizations that are NEW to the foundation (not previously funded). We are also accepting email updates and informal proposals from PRIOR and CURRENT grant recipients. We are inviting a limited number of proposals, on a rolling basis, selected from these inputs.
Note about postal mail: We believe in conserving resources, both for our environment and for your non-profit's bottom line. Please save on your printing and postage, by sending all communications to us via email and/or our online systems. Our staff and board share information electronically, so you are truly best served by providing us information that way.
