The foundation, guided by its Mission and Values, supports organizations that improve and/or expand the scope of learning environments of children and youth, especially those from economically and socially disadvantaged families.
Specifically, we seek letters of introduction (online only) from organizations that:
- clearly articulate and effectively address a compelling educational need for a clearly defined target population
- promote positive and meaningful interactions among children, youth, and adults, guided by well-established and research supported principles
- provide comprehensive, ongoing and meaningful support for children and youth
- have multiple stakeholders and beneficiaries
- demonstrate proven effectiveness with quantitative and qualitative data
- actively involve parents, staff and volunteers
- embrace and promote professional development for those that deal directly with children
- demonstrate accountability, organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, and fiscal responsibility
The 2008 grant cycle is now closed. Please check back in early 2009 for new information.
The foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals for funding but does want to be sure we are aware of the work you are doing in the areas we focus on. We encourage you to review our Eligibility guidelines and Mission and Values, and Current Initiative. If you feel there is a fit, please submit a letter of introduction through our online form.
Please be assured that we review all letters of introduction for possible partnership opportunities now and in the future. Some, but not all submissions may be followed up with a request for additional information, a formal proposal, or a site visit.
This submission is intended to be an introduction to your program, not a formal proposal for funding, so please do not consider this a pending grant application.
