About Aprendamos

Founded by Sally Daynes in 1998, Aprendamos is an education enrichment program designed in collaboration with local public schools and parents for the purpose of improving the academic standing of underserved K-3 students in the Pico Union and Korea Town neighborhoods.

Mission

To promote academic successes and self-confidence of at risk students in the Pico Union neighborhood.

Goals

Aprendamos strives to achieve the following academic boostmarks for each of our students during a five week session: pre-reading, reading, writing, vocabulary, and math. We believe that self-esteem, self-efficacy and self-confidence are essential to the success and achievement of our students. Our goal is to teach life long learning skills to our students and their families

We accomplish our work in a safe and nurturing environment with individual attention for each student that focuses on their strengths and accomplishments with targeted assistance on fundamental skills for literacy and basic math.
