Grants Information

In 2013, our tenth year of offering grants pursuant to requests for proposals, the foundation will temporarily suspend accepting unsolicited proposals in order to focus our very limited financial and staff resources on two major projects that develop youth leadership skills and nonprofit career paths, and leverage community resources available to public schools through innovative collaborations. More information on these projects may be found on the Innovative Programs section of this website.

This year, we will continue to:

  • Provide leadership and support for Education by Nature collaboratives, reforming education and impacting student achievement;
  • Review informal updates from current and former grant recipients;
  • Support Education by Nature collaborative models in California, and disseminate the model nationally;
  • Support Youth Philanthropy Connect's educational programming, and work with nonprofit organizations and foundations to engage youth advisory and junior boards, and develop career paths for youth in the sector; and
  • Accept Letters of Introduction from organizations that are NEW to the foundation so we may continue to learn about organizations in our communities, and notify them in the future about RFPs.

    If your organization has never received a grant from the foundation, and wishes to introduce your work to us, please review the foundation's Eligibility Guidelines guidelines, and consider submitting an LOI. Letter of Introduction

    Please understand that a letter of introduction is not a pending proposal. Your letter will be reviewed and your information will be placed in our database for future calls for proposals.
